Setting:

Synopsis: The king of Tauride has ordered Iphigénie to sacrifice the Greek strangers. She feels somehow drawn to one of them (Orestes, her unidentified brother) and cannot bring herself to kill him. She asks Diana to give her the strength to do the deed and is about to do so, when Orestes reveals his Identity and brother and sister are reunited.

Synopsis: Two Greek soldiers arrive in Tauride, one of whom is Orestes. Brother and sister do not recognize each other or reveal their identities. When Iphigénie asks about the royal family in Mycena, Orestes tells her everyone is dead, including himself, and she mourns the loss of her kin.

Synopsis: Iphigénie has been saved from the sacrificial altar by the goddess Diana, who takes her to Tauride as her high priestess. Following a bad dream in which she thinks her entire family, including her brother Orestes, is dead, Iphigénie appeals to Diana, who saved her life, to now let her die.
